Precious Hidden Valley Wines has an exciting opportunity available for a young, dynamic, and motivated Junior Viticulturist who is eager to learn and grow within the wine industry.
This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about viticulture and sustainability, and who enjoys working hands-on in the vineyards. The successful candidate will support the Farm Manager in implementing and maintaining best viticultural practices to ensure the consistent production of high-quality grapes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with vineyard planning, monitoring, and maintenance activities.
- Support the implementation of vineyard management programmes including irrigation, pruning, pest control, canopy management, and harvesting.
- Conduct data collection and record-keeping for vineyard performance and production metrics.
- Monitor soil, plant health, and grape quality to support sustainability initiatives.
- Provide general technical support to the Farm Manager and broader agricultural team.
Minimum Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Relevant BSc Degree with a focus on Viticulture (or a final-year student completing the qualification).
- At least 2 years’ practical experience in a hands-on vineyard role will be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
- A valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport a must.
