Kleine Zalze Wines is looking for a charismatic, commercially minded wine professional to join our team as Brand Ambassador for the Western Cape. This is a chance to represent one of South Africa’s most celebrated premium wine brands, building relationships across the on-trade and high-value retail channels while bringing the Kleine Zalze story to life through unforgettable brand experiences.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager – South Africa and Africa, the Brand Ambassador will drive premium brand growth for Kleine Zalze across the Western Cape, with a strong focus on on-trade and high-value customers. You will build meaningful customer relationships, enhance brand perception and visibility, and deliver consistent volume and value growth aligned with our company sales strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Brand Building & Customer Engagement
  • Create memorable and differentiated brand experiences that connect customers emotionally to Kleine Zalze wines.
  • Represent the brand authentically and uphold Kleine Zalze values in every interaction.
  • Plan, host and execute premium wine tastings, activations and curated experiences.
  • Develop a strong presence within the local wine and hospitality community.

Sales & Account Development

  • Work closely with the sales team of our distributor to achieve and exceed sales and volume targets within the designated territory.
  • Identify and secure new listings in restaurants, wine bars and key retail partners.
  • Drive premiumisation through effective range positioning and upselling strategies.
  • Execute promotions, menu placements and brand visibility initiatives.

On-Trade & Premium Channel Focus

  • Build and maintain a strong network within the hospitality industry.
  • Conduct regular trade visits and develop long-term customer partnerships.
  • Provide ongoing wine training and service education to restaurant teams.
  • Support customers in improving wine lists and premium offerings.

Events & Partnerships

  • Organise and deliver events, festivals and experiential activations.
  • Develop partnerships with venues, event managers and local organisations.
  • Represent Kleine Zalze at industry events and brand showcases.
  • Support direct-to-consumer initiatives including the wine club and online sales.

Market Intelligence & Administration

  • Monitor competitor activity, consumer trends and market developments.
  • Provide structured feedback and insights to management.
  • Manage reporting, stock coordination and event logistics.
  • Ensure efficient use and distribution of promotional materials.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12, with a diploma or degree in Business Commerce or Marketing.
  • Cape Wine Academy or WSET certification is beneficial.
  • 4–5 years’ experience in a sales environment, with a proven track record in wine sales.
  • Exceptional relationship-building ability.

Skills & Attributes

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about wine, with a strong understanding of premium categories and on-trade dynamics.
  • Charismatic and engaging, with excellent presentation and storytelling skills to deliver high-impact tastings and brand experiences.
  • Commercially astute, with the ability to identify opportunities, drive premiumisation, and secure new listings.
  • Well-networked within the hospitality industry, with strong relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Highly organised, with strong planning and execution skills for events and customer activations.
  • Energetic, adaptable and professional, with a willingness to work flexible hours and represent the brand at a premium standard

A market-related remuneration is offered, according to qualification and experience. Own car is essential.
