La Motte is seeking an energetic and dedicated individual with a positive attitude to take responsibility for the effective maintenance and cleanliness of buildings and equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* general maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment * carry out painting and minor refurbishment work as required * maintain inventory of tools, materials, and maintenance supplies * responsible for the procurement of materials, including obtaining and comparing supplier quotations and sourcing cost-effective products * purchasing maintenance materials and tools as required * keep the storeroom clean, organised, and well-maintained * ensure the proper functioning of electrical, plumbing, water supply, drainage, and sewer systems, carrying out minor repairs or reporting major faults * respond promptly to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely manner * ensure compliance with health and safety standards while performing maintenance duties
Applications are awaited from candidates who comply with the following:
* grade 12 (Matric) certificate * at least five years' experience in a similar position * valid Code EB driver's licence * a practical, hands-on approach * general skills, knowledge, and experience in basic maintenance and repair work * a keen eye for identifying defects or potential issues requiring attention * initiative and a proactive attitude * a professional appearance and conduct * excellent interpersonal skills
