A well-established wine estate in Stellenbosch is seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Winemaker to join our cellar team. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual looking to develop their career while working alongside an experienced winemaking team in the production of premium wines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of the winemaking process from grape intake through to bottling.
  • Monitor fermentations and perform routine cellar operations, including racking, blending, filtration, stabilisation and wine movements.
  • Ensure high standards of cellar hygiene, quality control and food safety.
  • Assist with bottling, stock control and inventory management.
  • Participate in harvest operations, including extended hours when required.
  • Operate and maintain cellar equipment safely and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc Agric (Viticulture & Oenology), Diploma in Cellar Technology, or equivalent qualification.
  • 1–3 years' practical cellar or harvest experience.
  • Sound knowledge of winemaking principles and cellar practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality wines.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours during harvest
