The Hospitality Manager will be responsible for the professional management and oversight of the wine farm’s restaurant and conference facilities. This role requires a results-driven individual with strong leadership capabilities, operational expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service aligned with the brand’s standards.
This position offers a unique opportunity to manage both leisure and corporate hospitality services, combining the guest-facing wine and dining experience with the professional oversight of conference facilities accommodating up to 60 delegates.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Direct and manage daily operations of the restaurant and conference facilities.
- Establish and enforce service standards, operating procedures, and compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
- Oversee reservations, guest flow, and event execution.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
- Liaise and communicate with the Head Chef.
Conference Facility Management
- Manage the rental and operations of the conference facilities accommodating up to 60 delegates.
- Coordinate logistics for corporate meetings, conferences, and private functions.
- Ensure the facility is equipped, maintained, and serviced to professional standards.
- Liaise with clients to tailor hospitality services, including catering and technical support.
Financial Management
- Manage cash-ups and control petty cash where applicable.
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure achievement of revenue targets.
- Oversee inventory control and procurement for wine, restaurant, and boardroom supplies.
- Prepare and present financial and operational performance reports to senior management.
Staff Leadership
- Recruit, train, and supervise hospitality staff.
- Implement performance management processes, including appraisals and corrective actions.
- Ensure effective workforce scheduling and resource allocation.
- Oversee uniform compliance and neatness at all times.
Customer Experience
- Maintain a high standard of guest service across all hospitality touchpoints.
- Manage wine tastings, food pairings, and special events to enhance brand positioning.
- Address and resolve customer feedback and complaints in a professional manner.
Business Development & Marketing
- Collaborate with marketing teams to promote the restaurant and conference facilities services.
- Develop and execute strategies to increase footfall, sales, and brand visibility, thereby increasing spending per guest.
- Build and maintain relationships with tourism operators, corporate clients, and hospitality networks.
- Upkeep and expansion of social media and social media opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hospitality management, preferably within the wine or fine dining sector.
- Proven track record in operational management, financial oversight, and staff leadership.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated passion for wine, food, and South African hospitality culture.
