Kleine Zalze Wines is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team for the 2027 Harvest Season. We process approximately 1,000 tonnes of grapes, producing a diverse range of wines, from Cap Classique to Cabernet Sauvignon. This internship will run from mid-January 2027 to the end of April 2027.
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- BScAgric or BAgric degree in Viticulture and Oenology, or a related qualification.
- Own accommodation and reliable transportation are essential.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and public holidays as required during the harvest season.
- A valid forklift licence and previous harvest experience will be advantageous but are not essential.
- Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Conducting basic laboratory analyses.
- Receiving and processing grapes.
- Filling and emptying presses.
- Performing racking, cellar additions, and fermentation management.
- Assisting with barrel work.
- Maintaining general cellar hygiene and housekeeping standards.
- Liaising with the Winemakers and Cellar Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the winery.
