Durbanville Wine Safari has been hosting curated wine experiences since September 2024. We’re proud to announce our new initiative: Doorstep Wines & Events. We bring high-standard, private wine tastings directly to our guests — at luxury villas and boutique hotels across Cape Town.
The Role
We are seeking experienced, freelance Sommeliers / Wine Experts to join our Doorstep Wines & Events team on an as-and-when needed basis. You will be representing our brand in intimate, high-end settings; creating an informative, memorable and relaxed experience for guests.
What we’re looking for
- Qualifications: WSET 2 or 3, Cape Wine Academy, or equivalent wine qualification preferred. Proven experience as a sommelier / wine expert.
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of South African wines, whilst a good understanding of international wine regions will be a plus.
- Presence: Confident, articulate and able to present to high-net-worth individuals in a professional yet relatable way.
- Skills: Storytelling ability, guest engagement and the aptitude to tailor tastings to different audiences.
- Logistics: Own transport. Professional appearance. Flexible availability.
- Passion: A genuine love for wine and for creating exceptional guest experiences.
