La Motte Wine Estate is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for food and a willingness to learn to join the team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- assist senior chefs to oversee and co-ordinate day-to-day running of sections
- prepare food according to specified menus, standards and in line with costing and portions
- assist in monitoring stock levels within specific section
- ensure strict compliance with hygiene, food safety and health regulations
- take initiative to improve efficiency within assigned section
- stay updated on culinary trends, techniques and best practices
Applications are awaited from persons who comply with the following:
- degree or diploma in culinary arts / formal chefs training
- minimum two years’ experience in a similar position
- knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards and allergen protocols
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- excellent time management skills
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- attention to detail
- ability to use initiative and be self-driven
- own reliable transport
- sober habits
- willingness to work weekends and Public Holidays
- contactable references available
