Junior Winemaker - Mooiuitsig Wine Estate - -

Mooiuitsig Wine Cellar, located just outside Bonnievale, has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and driven Junior Winemaker to join our cellar team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual with a genuine passion for quality winemaking and a hands-on approach to cellar operations. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside the Winemaker in all aspects of production, from harvest planning to finished wine, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, food safety, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Winemaker and will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Assisting with all aspects of the winemaking process from grape intake through to bottling.
• Supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of harvest activities.
• Managing cellar stock, inventory control, and production-related administration.
• Ensuring exceptional cellar hygiene and adherence to health and safety procedures.
• Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of cellar equipment and machinery.
• Supervising and supporting cellar staff to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Performing additional cellar and production duties as required.

Minimum Requirements :

• A relevant qualification in Viticulture and Oenology.
• 3–5 years' practical experience in a commercial production cellar.
• Sound knowledge of modern cellar practices and winemaking techniques.
• A good understanding of food safety systems and quality management.
• Computer literacy, including MS Office and WineMS.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with cellar equipment will be advantageous.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to perform well in a team-oriented environment.
• A willingness to work extended hours during the harvest season when required.
