Minimalist Wines is a Syrah-focused winery built around a minimal intervention approach to winemaking. We source our grapes from vineyards across the Cape, but the winemaking itself happens right in the city. Our cellar sits in the middle of Cape Town's inner city, making us one of the very few urban wineries in the country. It's a rare opportunity to be part of a working harvest without leaving town, and to learn hands-on winemaking in a small, close-knit setup.
Harvest runs from February to April 2027.
We provide a basic salary plus overtime, and dinners are provided during late nights. Please note that we do not provide accommodation.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Grape processing:
- Receiving and sorting grapes as they come into the cellar
- Helping with offloading and press work
Fermentation Monitoring
- Taking sugar (Brix) and temperature readings
- Logging fermentation data
Cap Management
- Punch-downs and pump-overs
Sanitation & Cleaning
Racking & Transfers
- Assisting with wine movements
Barrel work
- Filling & emptying
- Washing and topping

- Occasional trips to vineyards to collect ripeness samples ahead of picking
