Harvest Internship 2027 – Morgenhof Wine Estate (Stellenbosch)

Morgenhof Wine Estate is looking for enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our winemaking team for the 2027 harvest.

This is an opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a working wine cellar while being involved in the complete winemaking process from grape reception through to fermentation and cellar operations.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about wine, eager to learn and prepared to become part of a small, hands-on winemaking team.

What you will be involved in

• Grape sampling, maturity assessment and analysis
• Grape reception, sorting and crushing
• Pressing and pump-overs
• Fermentation monitoring and cellar work
• Barrel preparation, filling and maintenance
• Laboratory analysis, including pH and SO₂
• Wine transfers and general cellar operations
• Cleaning and sanitation of cellar equipment
• General cellar maintenance and housekeeping
• Assisting the winemaking team with day-to-day harvest activities

What we are looking for

• A qualification or current studies in Oenology, Viticulture or a related field
• Previous cellar or harvest experience would be advantageous
• A strong interest in winemaking and a willingness to learn
• Good attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
• Good communication skills
• A practical, hands-on approach to work
• Willingness to work long hours, weekends and public holidays during harvest
• Physically fit and able to perform manual cellar work, including lifting up to 25 kg
