A prestigious wine estate in the Western Cape is looking for a polished, personable, and hospitality-driven Restaurant Ambassador to join its team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about food, wine, and exceptional service, with the ability to create memorable experiences for both local and international guests in a premium restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and warmly engage with guests throughout their dining experience
- Provide attentive, knowledgeable, and personalised table service
- Present menus and confidently explain dishes, ingredients, and preparation methods
- Provide informed food and wine recommendations
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Assist with wine service and pairings
- Promote additional dishes, wines, and experiences where appropriate
- Maintain a high standard of service throughout the meal
- Process bills and payments accurately
- Maintain excellent table presentation and restaurant standards
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and management teams
- Assist with opening, closing, and general restaurant duties
- Handle guest requests and concerns professionally
Requirements
- Previous experience in a quality restaurant or luxury hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge and interest in food and wine
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional and well-presented
- Confident, warm, and naturally hospitable
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to remain composed and efficient in a busy service environment
- Good sales and upselling skills
- Ability to work weekends and public holidays
