Job Description:

  • Develop and implement hotel sales strategies to increase occupancy and revenue.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international travel agents, tour operators, DMCs, concierge networks, and luxury travel partners.
  • Grow business from key markets, including the USA, UK, Germany, and South Africa.
  • Identify new markets, sales channels, and business opportunities to support hotel occupancy.
  • Plan and attend trade shows, roadshows, networking events, webinars, and sales trips.
  • Manage group enquiries, exclusive-use bookings, and special events until handover to the operational team.
  • Coordinate site inspections, educational visits, and familiarisation trips for travel partners and media.
  • Work closely with Reservations, Revenue, Marketing, and Operations to achieve sales and occupancy targets.
  • Monitor sales activity, agent performance, new business, and conversion rates.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis within the luxury travel and hospitality industry.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Marketing, Business Management, or a related field advantageous.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in hotel sales, luxury hospitality, or tourism sales.
  • Proven experience managing travel agent and tour operator relationships.
  • Experience developing sales strategies that drive revenue and occupancy.
  • Experience with group bookings, exclusive-use bookings, and high-value guests.
  • International sales and market development experience advantageous.
  • Experience attending trade shows, roadshows, sales trips, and networking events.
  • CRM and hotel reservation system experience advantageous.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, presentation, and networking skills.
  • Good commercial and financial understanding, including the ability to analyse sales data and market trends.
  • Knowledge of hotel revenue management principles.
  • Excellent Afrikaans and English communication skills.
  • Results-driven, proactive, highly organised, and able to work independently.
  • Willing to work outside normal hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
