The Perdeberg Group, situated in the Paarl Wine region, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join their team as Accountant.

The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a structured, systems-focused environment.

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to): *Management Accounting & Reporting: Preparing monthly management accounts for the group (including PBLM) in Excel, based on Palladium trial balances; Preparing monthly sales and budget reporting by department, including the sales-to-trial-balance reconciliation; Preparing monthly banking reporting packs (balance sheet, income statement, debtors/creditors, age analyses and inventory listing); Preparing the group dashboard for board reporting; Client Graphs. *Balance Sheet Control: Own and prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all entities, tying out to monthly trial balances before management accounts are compiled; Maintaining and updating the fixed asset register and depreciation calculations across the group. *Tax & Statutory Reconciliations: Overseeing detailed VAT calculations and reconciliations across all entities, focusing on the sales/VAT tie-out to the trial balance; Preparing Excise Duty calculations and reconciliations across applicable entities; Preparing SAWIS 7 and Stats SA reporting as required. *Membership & Bank Administration: Managing all member and non-member payments and preparing monthly member statements; Double-checking the allocation of fines against Palladium; Processing monthly foreign exchange (CFC) revaluations. *Monthly Journals & Record Keeping: Processing recurring monthly journals (portal rebate journals, EURO 1 rebate, diesel allocation, card processing bank charges).

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (essential); studying towards or completed SAIPA/SAICA articles advantageous;
  • Minimum 3-5 years' accounting experience, ideally including management accounts preparation;
  • Strong Excel skills (essential) and comfortable working with ERP/accounting systems;
  • Experience with multi-entity consolidation advantageous;
  • Own reliable transport.
