Tasting Room Manager

Thelema Mountain Vineyards is looking for an experienced and passionate tasting room manager to lead our tasting room team.

The role is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience at Thelema, managing the tasting room team and coordinating events and functions hosted at the estate. The tasting room manager will also work closely with our marketing & brand manager to maximise the commercial impact of Thelema’s tasting room offering.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about hospitality, confident with people, highly organised and excited to be part of developing the next chapter of Thelema’s tasting room.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasting Room & Guest Experience

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the tasting room.
• Lead, manage and develop the tasting room team.
• Ensure consistently high standards of service and guest experience.
• Manage guest enquiries, reservations and feedback.
• Build strong relationships with returning guests, wine club members, tourism partners and corporate clients.
• Ensure the tasting room experience reflects Thelema's brand standards.

Events & Functions

• Coordinate the planning and execution of events and functions at Thelema.
• Work with clients, suppliers and internal teams to execute successful events.
• Support the development of events and experiences that attract guests and drive hospitality revenue.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the marketing & brand manager on the development and delivery of the guest experience.
• Provide insights from guests and the hospitality team to inform future experiences and initiatives.
• Ensure a cohesive guest experience across the estate.

Team & Administration

• Manage staff scheduling, training and performance.
• Oversee relevant reservations, POS and hospitality systems.
• Monitor tasting room sales and costs and work with finance where required.
• Maintain appropriate health, safety and hygiene standards.

Requirements

• Approximately 4 - 6 years' experience in hospitality, preferably in a wine estate, luxury hospitality or tourism environment.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience coordinating events or functions.
• Excellent communication and people skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Commercially minded and proactive.
• Comfortable working weekends and public holidays when required.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport.

Wine knowledge or a recognised wine qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
