An Engineering company based in Wellington is currently recruiting for a hands-on Accountant to join the team.
The Company provides specialized fabrication and engineering services to various industries such as agriculture, mining, wine, food, and other commercially focused industries.
The position requires the combining of financial expertise with the above-mentioned operational aspects.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Hands on daily accounting processing.
- Analyzing financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintaining Cost Accounting System.
- VAT Submissions
- Payroll and relevant submissions
- Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger.
- Compiling monthly Management Accounts and cost analysis reports
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Liaising with auditors, and financial institutions.
- Ensuring the company complies with all relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
- Cashflow management.
- Managing admin staff.
- Debt collection.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field will be beneficial.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the above-mentioned or similar industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and cost analysis.
- Knowledge of fabrication and engineering services.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies to optimize financial performance.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software. Sage online will be beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
