The Opportunity
Warwick Wine Estate is appointing a Seasonal Shift Supervisor for the summer season, from October 2026 to April 2027. The role reports to the Hospitality Manager and carries responsibility for front-of-house service during service periods. This includes leading and supporting the front-of-house team, managing the guest experience from arrival to departure, and maintaining the daily operational controls of the restaurant: cash-ups, stock counts, hygiene and safety. The Seasonal Shift Supervisor is the point of contact between management, the kitchen and the front-of-house team on every shift.
What You'll Do

Service Quality & Guest Satisfaction

Welcoming guests on arrival, managing seating and reservations to balance table turnover with the guest experience, attending to email queries, and resolving or escalating guest concerns promptly.

Operational Efficiency
-
Supervising and supporting the front-of-house team to deliver seamless service in line with standard operating procedures, and coordinating with the kitchen and management through busy periods, special events and operational challenges.

Cash & Financial Control
-
Performing shift-end cash-ups, reconciling cash and electronic payments, verifying EFTs and vouchers, and ensuring the POS system and cash registers are operational and balanced at all times.

Stock & Inventory Management
-
Counting and verifying front-of-house stock at the start and end of each day, maintaining accurate inventory records, reporting discrepancies, and ensuring the correct handling and storage of all front-of-house materials.

Compliance & Team Supervision
-
Monitoring adherence to restaurant policy, hygiene, safety and dress code standards, providing on-shift training, guidance and motivation, and applying discipline in line with company policy where required.

Reporting & Communication
-
Preparing and submitting shift reports covering sales, stock levels, team performance and incidents, and raising operational issues and improvement recommendations with management.

Readiness of the Space
Who You Are & What You’ll Need
-
Grade 12 or equivalent.
-
A short course or certificate in hospitality, restaurant management or customer service is advantageous.

At least six months' experience in a supervisory or senior front-of-house role within a restaurant or hospitality environment; one to two years in a similar environment, with a proven leadership and guest service record, is advantageous.

Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal ability.

A working understanding of cash handling, POS systems and stock control.

A solid grasp of restaurant service standards, hygiene and safety protocols.

Computer literate and proficient in English.

Reliable, punctual and well organised, with a professional, guest-focused manner.

Detail-oriented and calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving skills, honesty and the initiative to take accountability for a shift.

Willing to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Own reliable transport.
