Stellenbosch
Warwick has been making exceptional wine in Stellenbosch for decades. Our portfolio ranges from the ultra-premium Estate range to Professor Black and The First Lady, with wines that celebrate what really matters
The Opportunity
Warwick Wine Estate is appointing Seasonal Wine Hosts / Waiters for the summer season, from October 2026 to April 2027. The role sits within the Hospitality team and is responsible for the guest experience in the Tasting Room, the Restaurant and the picnic areas. It combines service with selling: guiding guests through a tasting, recommending wines and dishes with genuine product knowledge, and supporting the daily running of the department. It suits someone with a real interest in wine who takes pride in how a guest is looked after from arrival to farewell.
What You'll Do
- Tasting Room & Restaurant Service
- Guiding guests through wine tastings and menu options, answering their questions with confidence, and upholding the service standard from the greeting through to the farewell.
- Guest Experience
- Anticipating guest needs, responding promptly to requests, and handling feedback professionally with a solution-oriented approach.
- Wine & Product Sales
- Actively promoting wines, food and Wine Club memberships through tailored recommendations, meeting or exceeding sales targets, and supporting promotional campaigns and special offers.
- Daily Set-Up & Close-Down
- Preparing the Tasting Room, Restaurant and picnic areas for service: setting tables, arranging wine displays, checking presentation and completing end-of-day tasks so every area is clean and ready for the next day.
- Departmental Support
- Assisting with stock management and inventory checks, as well as coordinating with the kitchen and bar team as operations require.
- Events & Group Bookings
- Supporting the Hospitality team with special events, private tastings and group bookings.
Who You Are & What You’ll Need
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- A formal wine qualification (WSET or Cape Wine Academy) is advantageous.
- One to two years' experience in the wine and restaurant industry.
- A genuine passion for wine and for the hospitality industry.
- A sound understanding of hospitality procedures and service standards, with a proven record of excellent customer service.
- A sales-driven approach, with the ability to recommend and upsell products naturally.
- Keen attention to detail, and a positive, energetic manner.
- Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Own reliable transport, or own arrangements to reach the estate for shifts ending after public transport hours
