Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a polished, professional and guest-focused Host / Duty Manager to join a luxury wellness retreat hotel in Franschhoek, Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who is passionate about exceptional guest service and confident in overseeing front-of-house operations.

Position Details

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and host guests with warmth, professionalism and attention to detail.

• Oversee daily front-of-house operations while on duty.

• Ensure guests receive a consistently high level of service throughout their stay.

• Manage reservations, guest arrivals, seating arrangements and overall guest flow.

• Handle guest requests, queries and feedback professionally and efficiently.

• Resolve guest concerns promptly and ensure appropriate follow-up.

• Supervise front-of-house and service staff, ensuring luxury service standards are maintained.

• Assist with daily briefings, opening and closing procedures, and shift handovers.

• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Support management with operational duties, reporting and general administration when required.

• Maintain a professional and welcoming atmosphere that reflects the standards of a luxury wellness retreat.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Host, Duty Manager, Guest Relations or similar hospitality position.

• Experience within a luxury hotel, lodge, wellness retreat or high-end hospitality environment is highly advantageous.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.

• Professional, confident and well-presented.

• Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

• A genuine passion for guest service and creating memorable experiences.

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
