We’re looking for a wine-obsessed go-getter!!
Our client, a boutique wine store based in the center of Cape Town, is looking to appoint a Shop Manager who is hungry, energetic and ready to work their way up the ladder.
This isn't your typical “manage the shop and keep things ticking over” kind of job. You’ll be working alongside a fantastic Sommelier at the heart of the business - with customers, building relationships, selling wine, creating an amazing experience and finding ways to grow the shop.
A typical day will include:
- Selling wine - and getting good at it
- Making customers feel like VIPs
- Driving sales and recognizing opportunities
- Making the shop look irresistible
- Keeping stock under control
- Coming up with crazy-good ideas to increase sales
- Ordering stock & Building relationships with wine farms and suppliers
- Looking at the numbers and figure out what's working
- And yes… sometimes you'll need to do the boring stuff too!
We don't need someone who thinks they know everything. We want someone who says: “I don't know yet - but I'll figure it out.”
What we need is someone who:
- lives geographically close to Cape Town CBD
- has a serious appetite for learning, a love for people and an interest in wine
- has a commercial brain and the ambition to work hard and make things happen
- is comfortable talking to strangers
- has a commercial qualification (preferably a B. Comm)
Monday to Friday, 09h00 – 17h00
