The Opportunity

Warwick Wine Estate is appointing Seasonal Hospitality Runners for the summer season, from October 2026 to April 2027. The role provides direct support to the Wine Host / Waiter team during service in the Tasting Room, the Restaurant and the picnic areas. It is a support role: the Runner carries food and beverages to tables, sets up and clears tables, and keeps service areas stocked, clean and ready so that service flows during busy periods, working throughout under the direction of the Wine Host / Waiter on duty. The Runner does not take guest orders, conduct tastings or handle guest accounts. It is ideally for someone eager to learn who wants a first step into a professional hospitality environment.

What You'll Do

• Food & Beverage Delivery
  • Collecting food from the kitchen and delivering it to the correct table promptly and at the correct temperature, checking that plates, cutlery and accompaniments are correct before leaving the kitchen, and carrying wine, water and additional service items to tables as instructed.
• Table Set-Up & Preparation
  • Preparing the Tasting Room, Restaurant and picnic areas ahead of service: setting tables, laying cutlery, glassware and linen to standard, assisting with tasting stations and areas reserved for events or group bookings, and checking that every area is presented, stocked and ready before guests arrive.
• Clearing & Table Turnaround
  • Clearing plates, glassware and cutlery promptly and discreetly once guests have finished, resetting tables to standard for the next booking, and transporting used items to the wash-up area while helping keep that area orderly throughout service.
• Support to the Service Team
  • Responding promptly to requests from the Wine Host / Waiter team, communicating table readiness, delays and guest requests back to the service team, and referring all guest orders, wine and menu questions, account queries and complaints to the Wine Host / Waiter on duty.
• Service Areas & Hygiene
  • Restocking service stations, polishing glassware and cutlery, folding linen, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in all service and back-of-house areas in line with health and safety requirements, reporting breakages or hazards immediately.
• Events & End-of-Day Duties
  • Supporting the Hospitality team with special events, private tastings and group bookings, and completing end-of-day duties so that every operating area is neat and clean for the following day.

Who You Are & What You’ll Need

• Grade 10 or equivalent.
• No formal qualification is required; previous experience in a restaurant, tasting room or similar hospitality environment is advantageous.
• Physically able to remain on their feet for extended periods and to carry trays, plates and service equipment safely.
• Able to follow instructions accurately and work under the direction of the Wine Host / Waiter team.
• Strong teamwork, with clear and respectful communication with colleagues.
• Keen attention to detail, particularly in table set-up, presentation and cleanliness.
• Able to work quickly, calmly and safely during busy service periods.
• Polite and courteous towards guests at all times, with a positive and energetic manner.
• A willingness to learn and a genuine interest in the hospitality industry.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Own transport, or own arrangements to travel to and from the estate for shifts ending after public transport hours.
