Almenkerk Wine Estate | 2027 Vintage Interns

Almenkerk Wine Estate, situated in the cool-climate Elgin Valley, is looking for two motivated and enthusiastic interns to join our winemaking team for the 2027 harvest season.

February – March 2027

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of a working cellar, from grape intake and processing through to fermentation, élevage and cellar operations.

We’re looking for people who are:

• Passionate about wine and winemaking
• Hard-working, reliable and willing to get stuck in
• Curious and eager to learn
• Comfortable working long hours during vintage
• Ideally studying towards, or recently qualified in, Viticulture & Oenology or a related field

What you can expect:

• Hands-on experience in a small, quality-focused cellar
• Exposure to cool-climate Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and other varieties
• Experience with sustainable and regenerative viticulture
• Practical experience across the full winemaking process
• The opportunity to work in one of South Africa’s premier cool-climate wine regions
