We’re looking for a commercially driven Commercial Manager who knows the fruit export industry and is ready to take ownership of the full trade — from client relationships and pricing to sourcing, logistics and profitability.
Preference will be given to candidates with 4–5 years’ experience in the fruit exporting industry. If you’ve managed client accounts, understand sea-freight fruit trades and enjoy making things happen, this could be your next big career move.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Own and grow an established portfolio of international sea-freight clients.
- Drive pricing, costing and margins, making smart commercial decisions in changing market conditions.
- Manage trades from start to finish, including containerised sea freight and spot sales.
- Work closely with suppliers, packhouses and logistics to ensure quality, availability and on-time shipments.
- Identify new opportunities to grow markets and develop sourcing programs across citrus, grapes, apples and pears.
- Take control of stock, claims, documentation and reporting to keep trades profitable and running smoothly.
What You Bring
- 4–5+ years’ experience in fruit exporting in a commercial trading role
- Proven experience managing client accounts and commercial trades independently.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and margin-management skills.
- Experience with containerised sea freight highly advantageous.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- SA Citizen, with a relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Commerce or a related field.
- Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.
- A proactive, organised and commercially minded approach, with the confidence to make decisions and drive results.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally and work flexible hours when required.
