Museum Wines is expanding its wine retail and hospitality team. We are recruiting two Wine Sales Ambassadors for our wine bars in Franschhoek and Bree Street, Cape Town, together with a Bookkeeper and a Driver and Security Officer based in Paarl. We want capable, grounded people who take pride in knowledgeable service, accurate work and dependable follow-through.

Wine Sales Ambassador

Two positions in Franschhoek and Bree Street Cape Town.

The priority is commercial. You will help guests choose well and sell confidently without making wine feel intimidating. You will represent Museum Wines on the floor and at the bar, combining sound product knowledge with warm, attentive service.

What you will do

  Welcome guests, understand their taste, budget and occasion, and make relevant recommendations.

  Describe wines accurately and engagingly, including producer, origin, grape, style, vintage and food pairing where relevant.

  Lead informal tastings and convert interest into by the glass, bottle, takeaway and repeat sales.

  Support special orders, wine events and follow-up with regular customers when required.

  Operate the point-of-sale system, process payments and complete cash-up procedures accurately.

  Receive, store, count, display and replenish stock while maintaining excellent glassware and bar presentation.

What you must bring

  WSET Level 2 or higher. This is compulsory and proof of the qualification must accompany the application.

  Practical experience in wine sales, a tasting room, wine retail, sommelier service or a quality hospitality environment.

  A natural sales instinct, confident communication and the ability to explain wine in clear, welcoming language.

  Accuracy with stock and payments, a professional manner and consistent reliability.

  Availability for a hospitality roster that may include evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Bookkeeper

Based in Franscchoek

The Bookkeeper will keep the financial records for a busy wine retail and hospitality operation accurate and current. This is a practical role for someone who can work independently, resolve queries and give management reliable information.

What you will do

  Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero and complete bank and credit-card reconciliations.

  Manage accounts payable and receivable, supplier statements, customer accounts and payment schedules.

  Reconcile daily sales, point-of-sale reports, card settlements and cash-ups across the venues.

  Keep clean records for stock, expenses and VAT, and prepare schedules for the external accountant.

  Support payroll inputs, month-end reporting and other finance administration as required.

What you must bring

  Recent, hands-on Xero experience. This is compulsory.

  A relevant bookkeeping qualification or strong equivalent experience, supported by good spreadsheet skills.

  Numerical accuracy, discretion and the discipline to meet deadlines. Multi-site retail or hospitality experience is an advantage.


Driver and Security Officer

Based in Paarl with travel across the Western Cape

This role combines scheduled deliveries and collections with day-to-day site security and operational support. The successful candidate must be calm, observant, careful with stock and professional when dealing with staff, suppliers and customers.

What you will do

  Collect and deliver wine, supplies and documents between Paarl, Franschhoek, Cape Town and other approved routes.

  Check loads and paperwork, obtain signatures and handle all stock carefully during loading and unloading.

  Complete daily vehicle checks, maintain trip and fuel logs, keep the vehicle clean and report defects promptly.

  Monitor access, safeguard people and property, and support opening and closing procedures.

  Respond calmly to incidents, complete clear reports and assist with practical site duties when required.

What you must bring

  A valid South African driving licence, a good driving record and sound knowledge of Western Cape routes.

  Current PSiRA registration and relevant security experience.

  The ability to load and move cases of wine safely and to work flexible hours when required.

  A calm manner, sound judgement, discretion and clear communication.
