Bosman Family Vineyards is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Harvest Intern to join our winemaking team for the upcoming harvest.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about wine and wants to gain practical experience with unique cultivars in a cellar that receives grapes from more than one region. The successful candidate will be involved in the full harvest process, from grape intake through to fermentation and cellar operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with grape receiving, sorting and processing, pump-overs and wine transfers
  • Monitor and record fermentation progress
  • Carry out fermentation additions 
  • Assist with barrel and tank management
  • Assist with cellar equipment cleaning and sanitation
  • Work effectively as part of the winemaking team

Requirements

  • Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a qualification in Winemaking or a related field
  • Previous cellar or harvest experience 
  • A strong interest in wine and winemaking
  • Willingness to work long and flexible hours during harvest
  • Reliable, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Good attention to detail
  • Able to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn

We offer a hands-on experience across all aspects of the harvest process, exposure to both red and white winemaking techniques as well as unique cultivars, exposure to more than one growing region fruit; Wellington and Hemel-en-Aarde. A supportive environment in which to develop practical winemaking skills.
