Longridge Wine Estate is looking for a motivated, passionate and hardworking Assistant Viticulturist to join our vineyard team.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about viticulture, sustainable farming and producing high-quality grapes, and who is eager to develop their skills and experience within a premium wine estate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Viticulturist with the day-to-day management of the vineyards
- Monitor vine growth, vineyard conditions and general vine health
- Assist with vineyard planning and seasonal vineyard activities
- Supervise and coordinate vineyard teams and daily tasks
- Monitor irrigation, fertilization and pest & disease management
- Assist with pruning, suckering, canopy management and harvesting
- Keep accurate vineyard records and assist with data collection
- Assist with harvest planning and grape intake
- Ensure that vineyard work is carried out efficiently and according to estate standards
- Promote safe working practices and maintain compliance with farm and agricultural requirements
Requirements
- Qualification in Viticulture, Agriculture or a related field will be advantageous
- Previous vineyard experience will be advantageous
- Good knowledge of vineyard practices and grape production
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good leadership and people-management skills
- Attention to detail and good record-keeping abilities
- Valid driver's license will be advantageous
- Willingness to work flexible hours during critical vineyard periods and harvest
