UniWines Vineyards is offering a 6-month Viticulture Internship for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who wants to develop their practical skills and broaden their understanding of commercial viticulture. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a diverse range of grape varieties, wine styles, vineyard conditions and vine management systems.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPOSURE

  • Assist with the monitoring and management of commercial vineyards throughout the growing season.
  • Gain practical experience in vine management, canopy management, irrigation, nutrition, pest and disease monitoring and crop management.
  • Participate in vineyard inspections, maturity monitoring and harvest preparation.
  • Gain exposure to different grape varieties and wine styles and how vineyard practices influence wine quality.
  • Assist with vineyard classification and quality assessment.
  • Collect and analyse vineyard and harvest data to support viticultural decision-making.
  • Work with producers and the viticulturist to identify and address vineyard challenges.
  • Gain experience working within a large-scale commercial grape supply environment.

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a relevant qualification in Viticulture.
  • Is passionate about viticulture and the wine industry.
  • Is eager to learn and develop practical vineyard skills.
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Has good communication and organisational skills.
  • Is able to work outdoors and adapt to varying vineyard conditions.
  • Has computer literacy, including MS Office.
  • Has a strong interest in the relationship between vineyard management, grape quality and wine production.
  • Holds a valid driver's license.

 Starting date: Ideally be available from 1 Dec 2025

Duration: 6 months
