To join the front-of-house management team for the upcoming season at Constantia Glen, one of the Cape's busiest wine tasting destinations. We aim to give our guests excellent service and a professional wine experience — and we need an experienced Floor Manager to keep every section running smoothly.
The Role
As Floor Manager, you'll oversee service across all sections of the property, coordinating front of house staff to keep tables turning, tastings flowing, and guests looked after. You'll be the point of escalation on the floor: solving problems in real time, keeping pace during peak service, and making sure every section delivers the same standard of hospitality.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily floor operations across all sections, coordinating waiters, sommeliers/wine stewards, and runners
- Monitor pace and flow of service at peak, reallocating staff between sections as guest numbers demand
- Handle guest queries, complaints, and escalations promptly and professionally
- Support rostering and confirm sections are fully staffed and ready before doors open
- Check tables, glassware, and stock levels across sections before, during, and after service
- Uphold service and presentation standards, coaching staff on the floor in real time
- Liaise between the floor, kitchen, and management to keep service coordinated
- Oversee close-down across all sections — clearing, resetting, and restocking for the next shift
- End of day cash up procedures
What We're Looking For
- Own transport essential
- Previous experience in a restaurant/hospitality supervisory or management role essential
- Strong wine knowledge essential
- Experience with point of sale (POS) systems essential
- Proven leadership and staff coordination skills
- Strong communication skills, calm under pressure
- Available to work 5 shifts a week, including public holidays, weekends, and evenings
- Full availability required from 14 December 2026 to 16 January 2027, except for Christmas Day and New Year's Day
- Well presented, and able to represent and act as an ambassador for Constantia Glen
- A genuine interest in hospitality and guest experience
