A unique opportunity exists for a young and energetic individual to join the small but dedicated team at Die Mas van Kakamas. We are looking for a driven and dedicated person to join our team as Winemaker/Distiller.
The successful candidate will mainly be responsible for:
- Overseeing and coordinating harvest activities of own and contracted grapes
- Full winemaking process (from grape to bottle)
- Production and blending of spirit products
- Dry goods procurement and stock control
- Liaison with clients, suppliers and industry stakeholders
- Liaison with viticulture and office team
- All administrative duties including but not limited to SAWIS & IPW
- SARS - excise duty administration
- Managing and supervising of cellar, tasting room and staff
- Contributing to brand promotion and product development
- All other tasks related to this position
Essential minimum qualifications, skills and experience:
- Relevant winemaking qualification;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role;
- Proven experience in a winemaking environment;
- Strong leadership and organisational skills;
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Willingness to work hours as per industry requirements.
- Valid driver’s license
