DeMorgenzon Winery, situated on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills, is looking for a reliable, experienced and hands-on Warehouse Assistant & Forklift Operator to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of our warehouse, ensuring that stock is handled safely, accurately and efficiently from receiving through to dispatch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving, checking and storing dry goods, stock and materials.
- Picking, packing and preparing orders for local and export dispatch.
- Loading and offloading trucks safely and efficiently.
- Operation of a forklift.
- Maintaining accurate stock levels and assisting in stock counts.
- Ensuring warehouse remains clean, organized and safe.
- Reporting of damaged, missing or incorrect stocks.
- Will be part of the harvest crush pad team, responsible for harvest equipment hygiene, operation and grape offloading.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift license/ certificate. (preferred)
- SKOP courses beneficial.
- Previous forklift and warehouse operating experience.
- Experience in the wine industry.
- Team player, conscientious and thorough.
- Physically fit and able.
- Helping in the cellar as required (cellar experience a bonus).
- Good communication, punctual and reliable.
- Good, verifiable references are required.
The ideal candidate is someone who is hands-on, dependable and takes pride in their work. Whilst experience is important, attitude, reliability, honesty and attention to detail are just as important.
The candidate will be reporting to directly to the Head Winemaker, as well as the Logistics Manager on a daily basis.
