Our client, a working wine farm on Kromme Rhee Road in Stellenbosch, is looking for a reliable, organised Tasting Room Manager. The role runs the tasting room day to day and also owns the booking, coordination and on-site management of events and functions.

It suits someone who likes being on the floor and is comfortable managing staff, schedules and guest flow, so that tastings and events run smoothly and professionally.

Key Responsibilities
• Run the tasting room day to day and keep it welcoming and well organised for guests.
• Coordinate wine tastings, including bookings, timing and staff scheduling.
• Supervise tasting room staff and keep service standards consistent.
• Handle guest enquiries, bookings and feedback professionally.
• Manage event enquiries, bookings and confirmations for private tastings, functions, weddings and corporate events.
• Coordinate event logistics with suppliers, service providers and internal staff, and be on site on event days to resolve issues as they come up.
• Manage tasting room stock levels for wine and merchandise.
• Keep booking records accurate and do basic reporting.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and liquor licensing requirements.

Working Hours
Tuesday to Friday from 10:00 to 17:00, and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00. You'll need to be available for events, and event hours are paid separately.

Requirements
• Experience in a tasting room, hospitality or customer-facing environment.
• A proven ability to manage bookings, schedules and day-to-day operations.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Comfortable working weekends and during events.
• A practical, hands-on approach, with the ability to multitask and solve problems.
• Reliable, organised and calm under pressure, and friendly and professional with guests and colleagues.
• Comfortable taking responsibility and working independently.
• Experience coordinating events or functions would be advantageous.
• Familiarity with Stellenbosch wine farm or hospitality operations would be advantageous.
• Basic computer skills (email, booking systems, spreadsheets) would be advantageous.

If you have hands-on tasting room or hospitality experience and enjoy running both the floor and the events calendar, send your CV to advance@frankconsult.co.za. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
