This beautiful riverfront farm of 138ha can easily be described as an animal and plant sanctuary. The farm, located in a fertile valley ,even has a game camp with +- 14km game fence of which 11km are brand new. Other farm fences are also in good condition.
In this 108ha game camp on the upper part of the farm with beautiful hills and valleys from where you have good sea view towards the Botriver estuary at Rooisand, you find various antelope in small numbers like Eland, Springbok, Zebras, and off course most of the natural Fauna and Flaura that nature offers in this area. Even some rare protected plant species including interesting succulent plants can be found.
The game camp has decent gravel roads that mostly are suitable to drive on with a normal SUV without 4x4 ability. These roads are wonderful to hike on as well as to do mountain biking whilst enjoying the stunning scenery and natural environment. In the game camp you will also find a decent size earth dam with an abundance of Bass offering you a great fishing experience. The camp is almost 100% free of alien vegetation, with only a very few alien trees kept for the benefit of the large Eland to rub themselves on.
The lowest part of the farm is really stunning with +- 440m river frontage, large trees for shade and with grassy embankments utilised for recreational purposes. The sound of water bubbling over the weir and the chattering of birds like an assortment of raptors, weavers, water birds, hoopoo and many more, is very relaxing and therapeutic – a real happy place. It is also an excellent place to establish for example a camp-site. Next to this area is a level area of around 7ha + that can be utilised for agricultural purposes. At present there are 20 Sheep and 4 x Cows grazing on it, but you can increase quantities. It is for example a fact that Peka nuts flourish in this valley, and there is also a successful citrus farm in the area.
The farm has legal water rights to the river for 22 412 cubic metres of water from the river per year for irrigation purposes. It also has two boreholes with good quality water of which one are used and you can extract 5500m3 of water annually. The farm has a national water use certificate.
