We are looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager / Wine Ambassador to ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently.

Job Brief

Responsibilities include assist with supervising restaurant staff performance. You should be familiar with restaurant operations and have a good understanding of maintaining a service centric culture already established. You should also be available to work within opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

Ultimately, you will help minimize operating costs, boost our employee retention and morale and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests. Responsibilities include maintaining the restaurant's revenue, profitability and quality goals. You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.

 

Job Profile

Salary: Market related

Trading Hours: 18:00 - close (shift start: 14:00). Tues – Sat.

Tuesdays - Saturday

Availability: 1 August 2019

Own Transport Advantageous

Responsibilities & Requirements

We are looking for a Restaurant Assistant Manager / Wine Ambassador to ensure all daily activities run smoothly and efficiently. You will be support to the Restaurant Manager and responsible for the Wine Service.

Responsibilities include assist with supervising restaurant staff performance. You should be familiar with restaurant operations and have a good understanding of maintaining a service centric culture already established. You should also be available to work within opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

Ultimately, you will help minimize operating costs, boost our employee retention and morale and deliver a positive dining experience for our guests.

Sound accounting practices which includes invoicing, deposit handling, accurate stock management and true reporting of any deviations, true cash-ups and -reports. 

Management of accurate and proper reservations and professionalism when dealing with guests.

Ordering stock items from approved and preferred suppliers which is in line with the company rules and regulations.

Time and task management of staff and work output to achieve timelines and required standards. 

Management of staff related issues such as daily staff training, staff motivation and morale, staff retention.

Maintaining a service centric culture at all times.

Assist in managing an Occupational Health and Safety environment which includes the management of a daily Hygiene roster, daily health and safety tasks.

Maintains guest satisfaction by monitoring, evaluating, and managing quality control, beverage, and service offerings; initiating improvements; building relationships with guests.

Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

The main objective of the wine ambassador's duty is to guide the guest through the wine list with knowledge and confidence

To have excellent knowledge of the wine list and be confident in pre dinner drink trolley service as well as after dinner brandy trolley service. 

To assist the Restaurant Manager with beverage stock takes and following up on any deviations.
