We are looking for a hard-working and dedicated individual to join our team in the position of an office assistant/administrator. The successful candidate must be organized, have strong communication skills and be an excellent problem-solver who is well informed and can think on their feet, as well as work within tight timelines (ability to prioritize tasks and manage the day is imperative). The role is quite varied and would suit someone who enjoys working across different tasks and taking on challenges. We are ideally looking for a “jack of all trades” to help support a fastgrowing and hardworking team in the company.

Skills

  • MS Office: Competent skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Social Media & Internet Savvy: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google Chrome
  • Communication: Fluent in English & Afrikaans, both verbal and written.
  • Interpersonal: Ability to communicate in a self-confident, yet professional and respectful manner. Be dependable with a strong work ethic. Own the ability to manage and maintain relationships within the company and industry on behalf of the company.
  • Personnel: Ability to assist staff to develop their skills and knowledge, and also assist in the completion of company projects. Ability to delegate authority, supervise and discipline when necessary.
  • Entrepreneurial: ability to be resilient. Take ownership of the position within the company as if he/she were a shareholder. Ability to be self-reliant and regard position as a long-term investment.
  • Deadline Driven: ability to meet deadlines, even under stressful circumstances or when uncertain.
  • Multi-task: ability to handle multiple projects and to work well in group settings.
  • People Skills: ability to build trust within the large and diverse wine industry. Also, being a representative of the business’s image.
  • Telephone Savvy: Have a clear and welcoming telephonic presence.

Duties (Include but not limited to)

  • Answer and direct phone calls
  • Organize and schedule appointments as requested.
  • Plan meetings
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters and forms
  • Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
  • Develop and maintain a filing system
  • Update and maintain office policies and procedures
  • Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers
  • Maintain contact lists and database
  • Provide general support to visitors (coffee, tea or refreshments)
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Assist with after-hour services offered by the company, e.g wine tastings, soiree’s, etc.
  • Assist with posts and content as required for Social Media.
  • Be able to perform duties on Wine Online
  • Have sufficient knowledge of wine and the wine industry
  • Ad hoc admin duties.

 

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 -5 years’ work experience
  • Non-smoker (preferable)
  • Driver’s license ( Own reliable transport)

 

Salary: Market Related

Job Type: Permanent

Monday – Friday 08h30 – 16H30
