IT Systems Technician

Inherent Requirements:

  • BSC. IT/Computer Science or relevant diploma
  • MCSE
  • Own transport would be advantageous

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Desktop support engineer or similar role
  • Hospitality experience would be advantageous
  • Brief knowledge of Windows servers, DHCP, DNS, Group policy, Firewall
  • Experienced in troubleshooting of desktop related issues
  • Ability to handle queries relating to printers, switches, desktop, laptop, Wifi, VOIP, PBX
  • Able to multitask

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
  • Provide 1st and 2nd level support
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular end point security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
  • Proactively ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
  • Assists the IT Systems Administrator to ensure a world class IT service is being delivered to the Department Teams and suppliers
  • Notices and communicates opportunities to further improve IT practice and control standards
  • Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
  • Ensures that IT and related equipment is correctly issued and returned to inventory where appropriate, maintain full inventory of IT devices
  • Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
