Restaurant Manager

Role Objective:

The main purpose of this position is to manage the restaurant at a well known Wine Estate, just outside Stellenbosch.

We require an experienced Manager that is honest, driven, hungry for opportunity with great attention to detail, operational flair and able to work without constant supervision.


The Restaurant manager responsibilities include:

Maintaining the restaurant's revenue, profitability and quality goals.

You will ensure efficient restaurant operation, as well as maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards.


Job Profile:

Salary: Competent salary in line with qualifications and experience

Availability: September 2019

Own Transport: Essential

Operating hours: (excluding Event/function bookings that might occur):

Trading Hours:      Lunch: Mon – Sun: 11am – 5pm

                             Dinner: Mon – Sat: 6pm – 8:30pm (Kitchen closes)


Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Co-ordinating and managing the restaurant’s daily flow.
  • Must be a hands-on manager with strong business sense and financial acumen to implement financial controls to ensure profitability
  • To monitor and manage service levels to ensure continued service excellence
  • To plan, coordinate and execute events as per agreed company standards Determine and implement service excellence standards and monitor & evaluate outcome
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all licensing, hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Stock control, stock take and following up on deviations
  • Daily Cash ups, administrative duties, orders, guest / supplier liaison, cleaning & training checklists.
  • Minimum requirements: A recognised Hospitality Qualification (an advantage)
  • At least 2-years’ experience in working in a focused and driven environment. Willing and able to work flexible working hours in line with hospitality industry practices, including weekends and public holidays
  • Personal Skills Highly motivated and passionate about the Hospitality industry Meticulous, assertive, alert, inspirational
