Prepare menus
Assist Sous/Head Chef
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Ensure adequacy of supplies at the appointed sections
Follow the guidance of the Executive or Sous Chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
Maintain positive relations with other staff and departments
Compile Prep lists in accordance with menus
Assist in maintaining recycling programme

Requirements and Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in food preparation and culinary arts
A minimum of 5 years' work experience in a 5* Hotel
Must be willing to work to work across outlets and off-site
Experience working in the top 30 eat out restaurants in South Africa will be advantageous

The successful candidate will be required to show evidence of the following abilities:

Adhering to high quality standards and monitoring processes and tasks according to standards
Staying focused and working productively when under pressure
A team player
Grade 12
