Our client is a Consultancy firm located in the Helderberg area of Cape Town with services that include Full Function Payroll on behalf of their clients.  They currently have 15 Payroll clients with over 650 employees whom they service.  They are in need of an experienced Payroll Consultant with strong knowledge of both SAGE VIP Premier Payroll System and SARS Easyfile and has experience in the below-mentioned duties & responsibilities of this role.

Capabilities and experience:

  • Full payroll processing function for weekly, biweekly and Monthly salaries for various clients – loading new employees, hours worked, overtime, commission, bonus, loans and other deductions etc.
  • Able to create new companies from the beginning on VIP and load new employees or Year to date financial data for payroll – Financial take on
  • Able to work with big volume payrolls at a time on VIP
  • Monthly administration of Pension, Provident, Medical aid and other Employer contributions on VIP
  • Able to work with basic salary + benefits packages, as well as Cost to Company payrolls
  • Working knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment Act and able to quickly grasp legislation of certain Sectoral determinations and Bargaining council collective agreements
  • Able to manually work out shift hours and overtime hours if necessary
  • Good knowledge of SARS IRP5 taxable codes
  • Able to reconcile the full payroll and submit the Bi-Annual and Annual IRP5 Employer Tax reconciliation to SARS
  • Administration and up to date record keeping of client leave balances
  • Comfortable with importing hours/information into VIP from excel or clocking system
  • Able to export VIP reports into Excel and manipulate to client’s requirements/standard
  • Monthly reporting on 3rd party payments such as union, garnishee orders, Levies etc.
  • Monthly submission of electronic UIF declaration to the department of labour on the client’s behalf
  • Completion and provision of EMP201 to be submitted and paid to SARS (PAYE, UIF & SDL) on a monthly basis by the client
  • Work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines – time management
  • Plan payrolls ahead for the month and arrange with clients for info on dates required
  • Meet client payment deadlines
  • Able to multi-task – doing more than 1 payroll at a time
  • Weekly and monthly visits to Payroll clients for payroll queries or payslip drop off
  • Professional handling of email and telephonic payroll queries

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric qualification
  • Payroll or Human resources management qualification – advantageous
  • SAGE VIP Premier payroll system – requirement
  • SARS Easyfile – requirement
  • SARS Efiling – advantageous
  • Simplex time recorders – advantageous
  • Able to communicate fluently in both Afrikaans & English
  • Own vehicle with valid driver’s license

Salary package on offer:

  • CTC of between R18 000 – R23 000pm (including Pension Fund contribution)
  • 13th Cheque – dependent on performance
