Junior Sous Chef required for STELLENBOSCH based Bakery

A Stellenbosch based daytime restaurant on a well-known wine estate is seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join their team.

With fantastic working hours in a fun and upbeat environment, the ideal candidate needs to a team player and have good communication skills.

This is a sought after position as the restaurant is not open evenings only offering breakfast and lunch! General working hours will be from 07:30 – 17:00 with 2 days off per week.

The ideal candidate needs to be experienced, hardworking, enthusiastic individual, a self-starter, fluent in English, well-spoken, passionate about food & wine, be a creative and goal driven individual with a strong work ethic and above all a team player. 

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Menu execution in-line with the standards already set by the Head chef
  • Excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Sound knowledge of best cooking practices
  • Tertiary Culinary Qualification a prerequisite
  • Enforcing and maintaining strict health and hygiene standards
  • Must be able to manage busy pass
  • Admin skills will be a strong advantage 


The right candidate must have a valid South African driver's license, own transport, good communication skills, have contactable references, sober habits and experience in a similar position.
