A well know wine farm in the Stellenbosch area seeking a Senior Chef de Partie for their popular Farm Kitchen
Experience in a similar role or establishment essential with the below skills essential.
We are looking for a professional qualified chef to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise
- Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets set quality standards by the Head Chef
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Support Head Chef in maintaining food cost
- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Answer, report and follow Head Chef’s instructions
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
- Strive to improve food preparation and presentations
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers, customers and all other departments
Requirements
- Proven working experience in chef de partie role
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiar with industry’s best practices
Own transport essential
