Kitchen Manager/Head Chef needed for a small family owned wine estate in Stellenbosch

A well-established restaurant, lodge & wedding venue on a small Stellenbosch Wine Estate specializing in local and traditional South African food, is looking for a Kitchen Manager / Head Chef to join their team. Owners are hands-on and involved in the day to day operations.


  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef
  • Skilled in and all aspects of food costs (Wastage, portion control pricing and ordering)
  • Strong knowledge of food handling and quality control
  • Health and Safety experience
  • Fun-loving, happy personality, with good interpersonal relationship skills
  • Motivated and goal-driven
  • Team player, but yet able to manage staff to achieve business objectives
  • Creative & Passionate
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
  • Own transport


  • Staff management, training & development
  • Stock control
  • Assist with menu design and specials

  • Starting salary ranges from R7 000-R10 000 dependent on experience, proficiency and culinary education level with the potential to renegotiate after a trial period.
