Our Helderberg-based client, a dedicated and established producer and supplier of food products to the South African industrial market, is offering an exciting opportunity to an adaptable and creative Sales Executive. This role will focus on maintaining and growing the company’s customer base and sales revenue in various SA provinces. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to specifically executive level B2B sales and will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that will enable sales targets achievement.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and increasing sales product sales to the existing customer base in the Western and Eastern Cape regions
  • Assessing local market conditions and identifying current and prospective sales opportunities
  • Creating sales budget for regional customers and monitoring turnover against it on monthly basis
  • Meeting margin targets by understanding the industrial food industry
  • Sharing knowledge with sales executives from other branches on competitive intelligence, business opportunities, and needs
  • Customer visits and follow-ups on leads
  • Calculating own sales prices based on market price and internal cost prices (no standard pricelist)
  • Adhering to high ethical standards, and complying with all regulations/applicable laws
  • Networking to improve the presence and reputation of the branch and company
  • Reporting to the Commercial Director

Minimum requirements:

  • At least 4 years of proven B2B experience in the food industry
  • Tertiary qualification in sales/marketing (preferred)
  • Degree in Food Science or B-com (advantage)
  • Familiarity with the food industry’s rules and regulations
  • Experience in working with ERP systems like Sage, SAP, Pastel evolution
  • Available to travel to other provinces as needed
  • In possession of own car, with a valid driver’s license
  • Positive and enthusiastic personality
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English

Salary on offer:

  • Up to R35 000 p/m CTC Package plus bonus (dependent on performance)
