Brand Manager

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate Brand Manager who will be responsible for the successful implementation of strategic marketing plans for a portfolio of Wine Brands and will be based at our Pressing Cellar in Franschhoek.

This person will play a proactive role in converting brand strategy into practical action plans through close strategic guidance from the Marketing Director and will have daily interaction with Trade Marketing, the International and domestic Sales Teams as well as the Hospitality Division. Implementation of the brand strategy will require regular travel.

 Although not necessarily from the wine industry, the appointee must have a noticeable passion and long-standing interest in the world of wine. She or he should be a vibrant ‘out of the box’ thinker, with a practical, yet creative approach to wine marketing.

 In summary the characteristics that we are looking for are: 

  • A strong people’s person, with obvious enthusiasm, commitment and energy.
  • The ability to think strategically combined with a creative entrepreneurial, hands-on approach to implementation.
  • An understanding of and a passion for wine and the wine industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
  • Minimum of 5 years assistant brand management experience or similar with strong FMCG brands.
  • A passion for customer service and true marketing orientation.
  • A confident, proactive self-starter who, with guidance, can get on with the job proactively.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (preferably bilingual).
  • Capable administrator; a very dedicated and committed attention to detail approach.
  • An ability to get on with people across all levels of an organisation.
  • Very knowledgeable and a keen interest in online and traditional brand strategy activation, and highly skilled in both written and visual communication; 
  • BCom/Bus Science (Marketing) or similar.
