We are looking for a competent Logistics Coordinator on behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable fruit exporting company, based in Stellenbosch.  In essence, this role ensures the smooth operation of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency in the supply chain process of the exporting of the product.  A great asset for a Logistics Coordinator is their communication and negotiation skills. They are also well-versed in supply management principles and practices. The ideal candidate will have great record-keeping abilities and a customer-oriented approach.

Duties & responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Effectively executing role KPI’s, which includes:
    • Logistics Operations
    • Data management and capturing
    • Documentation distribution and collation
    • System maintenance
    • Forecasting
    • Cost Management
    • Weekly Operations Pack
  • Effective communication to all relevant internal and external stakeholders i.e. SCM Clients, Shipping Lines, Market Coordinators, Cost Accountants, etc.

Minimum requirements:

  • BComm in Logistics / Supply Chain Management
  • At least two years of experience as junior Logistics Coordinator or Stock Coordinator
  • Thorough knowledge of:
    • Product/pallet coding structures and cold store stock management processes
    • Company stock management systems such as QX/ LINC. Able to book, allocate stock, issue loading instructions, and confirm MR information in system
    • Export requirements and protocols
    • Shipping lines services/schedules in areas of operational
  • Basic knowledge of the export cost chain and ability to optimize service/cost for clients while maximizing company margins
  • Good communication and influence skills
  • Fluent in both Afrikaans and English
  • Own vehicle with valid drivers’ license
  • Living location in or around the area of Stellenbosch

Salary on offer:

  • Our client offers a negotiable CTC salary package, up to maximum approx. R35 000pm (dependent on candidate experience and qualifications)
  • Plus additional performance bonuses (13th, 14th & 15th cheques)
