Our client is part of an international soft fruit group with eleven business units across the world.  This dynamic company is seeking a Logistics Administrator to join the team in the Stellenbosch area.

The Logistics Administrator assist the Logistics and Operations department to organize and coordinate all logistical operations and procedures in the supply chain to ensure organizational effectiveness and efficiency.

Key performance areas:

  • Logistics & Operations coordination, including:
    • Identify operational issues on the internal operating system and escalate to the relevant members in the operational and logistics team
    • Consign fruit during the season daily to the Local Market on the internal operating system
    • Set up fruit consignments for certain dedicated customers on the internal operating system
    • Apply for Organic Certificates timeously through the appropriate certified body to ensure clearance of shipment
    • Apply for insurance declaration of fruit to be obtained for shipment before arrival date
    • Check costs and process invoices for the supply chain services provided to the company
    • Set up cost rates on the internal operating system to do cost control on consignments
  • Logistics administration:
    • Keep record of all air and sea freight documentation and send it to relevant stakeholders as requested on an ad hoc basis
    • Record keeping of the insurance declaration lists and organic certificate lists to ensure

efficient traceability

  • All administrative tasks within the scope of the export logistics function of the company

Candidate requirements:

  • Formal qualification: Logistics or related diploma/certificate (desirable)
  • Experience in administrative role (2-3 years)
  • Exports of perishable cargo experience
  • Fruit experience (desirable)
  • High attention to detail
