General Cellar Worker

A wine farm in the Franschhoek area seeks to employ a General Cellar Worker and we are looking for an honest, trustworthy and hardworking individual, to fill the above mentioned position.

 

Duties include:

  • Assist in making wine by operating cellar equipment
  • Take wine samples
  • Assist with harvest – grape delivery and take in , transport discarded grape skins
  • Prepare wine for bottling
  • Assist with barrel work and racking
  • Maintenance of machinery and cellar equipment and ensure the cleanliness of the cellar & equipment

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Pay attention to detail
  • Physically fit and able
  • Must have good communication skills (bilingual)
  • A willingness to “go the extra mile” whenever required
  • A willingness to work hard and learn
  • Willing to work overtime when required
  • Previous experience in a cellar environment will be beneficial, but is not essential
  • A valid forklift license will be beneficial, but is not essential.
  • Grade 12 or Skop 1,2,3 will be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Sober habits

 Salary : Market related
Start date : October 2020
