Robertson Winery (Pty) Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager at its premises in Robertson, Western Cape.

 The successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Microbiology/Wine Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry or Nutritional Science
  • 2+ years of progressive management or supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and implementation of laboratory compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Effective data trending, document control and technical bench marking skills
  • Strong problem solving, team building and mentor skills

 Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including: technician scheduling; resource allocation; clean-up and maintenance; reporting trends and data; and establishing a calibration program for testing equipment that affect quality results
  • Audit daily workflow to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ISO 17205)
  • Apply employee management skills by working closely with team members to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency
  • Facilitate effective communication across internal departments and provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives
  • Establish and improve laboratory procedures and processes and mitigate risks
  • Establish and maintain a Review program to ensure operational best practices
  • Ensure that environmental standards are in line with regulatory requirements
