Robertson Winery (Pty) Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Manager at its premises in Robertson, Western Cape.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor of Science/Diploma in Microbiology/Wine Bio-Technology/Bio-Chemistry or Nutritional Science
- 2+ years of progressive management or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of and implementation of laboratory compliance standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Effective data trending, document control and technical bench marking skills
- Strong problem solving, team building and mentor skills
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, including: technician scheduling; resource allocation; clean-up and maintenance; reporting trends and data; and establishing a calibration program for testing equipment that affect quality results
- Audit daily workflow to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (ISO 17205)
- Apply employee management skills by working closely with team members to ensure high levels of productivity and efficiency
- Facilitate effective communication across internal departments and provide effective solutions to support business and quality objectives
- Establish and improve laboratory procedures and processes and mitigate risks
- Establish and maintain a Review program to ensure operational best practices
- Ensure that environmental standards are in line with regulatory requirements
