Assistant Tasting Lounge Manager

We are a well-established market leader in the wine industry, located in Stellenbosch and are looking for an Assistant Tasting Lounge Manager. The ideal candidate should have more than three years’ experience, and a genuine understanding, enthusiasm and passion for the wine industry. This position would ideally commence March 2021.

We require a team member who has experience in and efficient management of a tasting room, its staff and the associated duties.  The candidate should:

  • Showcase excellent communication skills, both telephonically and via email
  • Be punctual, creative and have an eye for detail
  • Completed wine/ FOH courses and accreditation

 Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting of curated tastings with clients
  • Training of tasting room staff
  • Management of Cellar Door sales and promotions
  • Assisting the manager with implementation and running of events
  • Managing online sales
  • Assisting with Wine club and customer relationship management 
  • Oversee stock takes
  • Other administrative duties related to the position

 The following skills are not prerequisite, but are advantageous:

  • Bilingual (South African and /or European language(s)),
  • Competence in graphic design and photography;
  • Social media/digital marketing and communications across all major platforms.
