Creditors Clerk/Financial Assistant - Wellington

Duties & Responsibilities

The usual activities can be expected and will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Full Creditors function with additional Accounting functions
  • Capturing of Supplier Quotations, Orders and Invoices
  • Communication with Suppliers
  • Reconciliation of Supplier accounts
  • Preparation of Payment files
  • Capturing Cashbook, Petty Cash, Credit Cards
  • Capturing Monthly Journals
  • Upkeeping and Reconciliation of Supplier Age Analysis
  • Monthly Stock control
  • Reconciliation of Control Accounts
  • Filing and archiving of Supplier documents
  • Administrative support for Financial Manager and Debtors Clerk

  • Pro-active and self-motivated
  • Ability to work independently but also be a team player
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and deadline orientated
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Proper understanding of VAT requirements
  • Ability to implement systems in Creditors department
  • Experience in Pastel
  • Experience in Processing to Trial Balance
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric/Grade 12 with 5+ years relevant experience or
  • Financial diploma with 3 years experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment will be an advantage
  • Own transport

  • Working Hours: Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00; Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
