Our client in Stellenbosch is looking for a IT Infrastructure Engineer. 

The ideal candidate must be able to work independently, must be able to work under pressure and be client focused.
Be up to date with technology trends.
Interaction & effective communication with staff members, take ownership and responsibility of tickets, and show effective self-management to prioritize tickets.
Quick learning abilities and first-time resolution of tickets.
 
REQUIREMENTS:

Education required:

  • Ideally Computer Science/ Information systems support /MCSE or MSCD / N+ /CCNA /ITIL Frameworks

Skills required:

  • Must be able to work independently, must be able to work under pressure and be client focused.
  • Be up to date with technology trends.
  • Interaction & effective communication with staff members, take ownership and responsibility of tickets, and show effective self-management to prioritize tickets.
  • Quick learning abilities and first-time resolution of tickets.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience as a IT Infrastructure Engineer
  • Must have 6+ years post qualification experience


 
KEY DUTIES:

Infrastructure Support:

  • End users supported on Applications
  • Proactively capacity managed of user infrastructure
  • Maintenance
  • Aid with automation of systems
  • Assets enrolment and tracking
  • Asset setups, rollout

Information management:

  • Backup systems maintained and data restore practice implemented as part of DRS
  • Aid Active Directory growth
  • GPO growth and best practice
  • Overall support of QX / MS Dynamics, Qlikview, Datatim, Dipar, Pastel, Dataline monitoring
  • Email accessibility and security managed, user education via Mimecast toolset

Risk management and security:

  • Aid identifying, I.T risk and maintained risk register.
  • Security of data and all managed systems
  • Access control development, documented and managed
  • I.T protocols and application
  • End user safety protocols and user training

Innovation & best practices:

  • Internal best practices throughout the company implemented
  • Best practices from external sources assessed and implemented where relevant
  • Innovations presented to management and implemented where relevant 

Service provider management:

  • Aid maintaining relationships with all IT service providers
  • Compliance to service agreements
  • Implement ITIL frameworks on internal and external SLA’s and tickets logged.



Salary: Negotiable
